Discussion Groups send out more workers

Need more workers? Get your groups talking! Discussion groups are almost twice as likely to send out six workers or more in the past year.

Jesus said the harvest is plentiful, the workers are few. We need to all pray daily that God would raise up workers for the harvest. One other thing we can do is to encourage our groups to discuss rather than passively sit and soak. Discussion groups are about twice as likely to send out lots of workers.

The Gospel that doubles, part 1

I work full time promoting church growth in a world where church growth is a multi-million dollar industry and the church is not growing. Millions are spend every year on books, CDs, conferences, DVDs, web pages, research and consulting and the church is not growing. I don't want to be too hard on those of us in the church growth industry/ministry. (I often feel I wear two hats: business man and minister.) The church might be doing even worse without us. Lead by example

"Follow my example" I read this verse this morning: "Join with others in following my example." Phil 3:17a (NIV) As I read this verse, I thought about the power of example. Nothing much happens till someone sets an example. If I were to say to you, "I know how you could. . . Loose 40 pounds Get out of debt in six months Double your church in one year How would you respond? Here is how I would respond: show me! Show me an example of someone who has done it. Show me and example of someone who has done it, then let's talk. I want to see an example. Your people want to see and example. If you would start a doubling group movement in your church, set an example. I remember the first time I heard Andy Stanley say (paraphrased), "I am in a group that is doubling; I want you to be in a group that is doubling." I thought, "How fresh! What an idea!
